Last Paris walk about. Packing. Leaving tomorrow. Traveling most of Sunday and Monday, Tblisi isn’t easy to get to. ; )

You are in luck. Packing up. Leaving Paris early Sunday and don’t get in until Monday midday. You get a couple of days off. : )

On my walk to Montmarte. I’m trying not to bore you with all of the exquisite bakery windows and neighborhood bookstores/libraries. One after the other! It is very hard for me not to take some photos.

On my walk from Montmartre. Destination, Galeries Lafayette and Arc de Triomphe. Ok, in case anyone is paying attention, I told you a few days ago that the Arc de Triomphe was under construction. Well, it dawned on me after my post—the Arc de Triomphe is not at/near the Louvre/Tuileries (which is where I was for those pictures). 🤦‍♀️ The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (and the carrousel) is under construction. The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is/was originally intended as a monumental entrance to the Tuileries palace.

Great day. Great ending to my time in Paris. Entirely on foot. I think I walked through seven arrondissements—4, 3, 10, 18, 9, 8 and 1, respectively. All on the right bank—Rive Droite today. And I did get caught in a huge downpour on my way back to the apartment. At least I was on my way back to the apartment!

Next stop Tbilisi. Can’t wait to see Mike! Miss everyone.
Eurostar to Paris.

Another terrific day. London, St. Pancras International Station to Paris, Gare du Nord Station. Easy, 2 1/2 hours tops. I absolutely love this city. Paris has a thousand faces and so many ways to discover it. My favorite might be Paris by neighborhood. Tomorrow brunch with friends and discovery.

Traveling from London to Paris is simple, smart, and speedy. Go direct from city centre to city centre in just 2hrs 16mins. Eurostar from London to Paris is the only way to travel.

So, this is where we are staying. Great lactation—two blocks from Norte Dame.

So, we were stretching our legs and immediately came across Notre Dame. Our apartment is in the shadow of this magnificent cathedral.

Still surrounding by scaffolding, but beautiful nonetheless! Construction originally began in 1163. The fire in 2019 caused massive damage. Norte Dame’s fire-damaged roof is being rebuilt using medieval techniques. The cathedral remains closed and is set to possibly reopen in late 2024.

We are also within a short distance of my favorite bookstore. I stop by every time I am in Paris.

Paris is getting ready for the Olympics!
Pod to Paris

And we’re off! Pod to Paris. This is the way to travel.

Arrived. My spot for three days. The gorgeous Hôtel D’Orsay is located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris south of the Seine in an 18th century building. The classically inspired style is accented by antique furniture throughout. The breakfast room impresses with its glass roofing. Wish I could stay longer.

One of my favorite museums, Musee D’Orsay, is just a few minutes away. The hotel’s location makes this one a great choice for me–enjoying the charm of the 18th century with the comforts of today.

The Seine River walk. Pont Neuf. Musee D’Orsay. Walk by the Louvre. Macarons. Jardin des Tuileries. I really wish I could stay longer. Dinner at D’Chez Eux with an old college friend. Nice, charming and classic bistro–escargots, yum.
